NEW PROVINCE PROPOSAL WITH MERGER SCENARIO
A legislative proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey by MHP Konya Deputy Konur Alp Koçak has found wide resonance on the country's agenda. In the bill, Koçak proposed merging the districts of Karapınar, Emirgazi, and Halkapınar to form a new province named 'Ereğli'. Although there is no finalized decision yet regarding any district becoming a province, this proposal carries the potential for a significant change to the current map.
