Ferdi Tayfur's children, Tuğçe Tayfur and Timur Turanbayburt, organized a memorial service for their father at the Eyüp Sultan Mosque in Istanbul. Tayfur's nieces and nephews, meanwhile, held a memorial service at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque.
STATEMENT FROM TUĞÇE TAYFUR
According to a report by 2. Sayfa, a statement came from Tayfur's daughter, Tuğçe Tayfur Aydın. Aydın said, “Let prayers be recited for my father everywhere. I don't think there is any harm in that.”
Necla Nazır also stated after the memorial, “May he rest in light; we have nothing else to say beyond this.”
Tuğçe Tayfur also made a post after the memorial service. In her post, she used the following expressions:
"Today is the 40th day. We commemorated my father with prayers. We thank all his fans and friends, young and old, who were with us despite this rain. May your resting place be peaceful, rest in light, father."
His niece Şirin Gözalıcı, who held a memorial service for Ferdi Tayfur at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque, said, “As his family, we offered our prayers, and his fans did not leave us alone. Thank you very much for coming, please do not withhold your prayers.”
Touching upon the memorial program organized by the master artist's children, Gözalıcı said, “How beautiful, he is being commemorated with prayers everywhere. What a valuable person he was that memorial services were held in two different places.”
