It is primary day for the CHP! In this primary, party members are determining the CHP's presidential candidate. The election, in which Ekrem İmamoğlu is participating as the sole candidate, has gained even more significance following İmamoğlu's arrest. Citizens who are not CHP members but wish to show their support for Ekrem İmamoğlu are also casting their votes at the Solidarity Ballot Boxes.
A total of 5,600 ballot boxes have been set up across 81 provinces for the primary. Voting, which began at 08:00 AM, was scheduled to end at 5:00 PM. However, due to high turnout, voting hours have been extended until 7:00 PM. Those who are at the ballot box at 7:00 PM will be able to cast their votes.
