APPROACHING THE END IN THE NARİN GÜRAN INVESTIGATION

The first hearing of the trial regarding the murder of Narin Güran, whose body was found after she went missing in Diyarbakır, will be held today. During the hearing, the defendants in custody—uncle Salim Güran, mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who helped transport Narin's body—will appear before the judge. Ahead of the critical hearing, father Arif Güran stated, "After the court session, I will begin a hunger strike in front of the Turkish Grand National Assembly with my three sons."

The investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the discovery of Narin Güran's body in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, after she went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district, has been completed regarding the suspects in custody: Salim, Yüksel, and Enes Güran, as well as their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar.

MINISTRY TO INTERVENE

Speaking about the Narin Güran murder that chilled Turkey to the bone, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said, "Narin's case is Turkey's case. On November 7, ministry lawyers will intervene in the process. We saw fear and anxiety in her cousins."

THEY ARE APPEARING BEFORE THE JUDGE

On October 23, the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court accepted the indictment prepared against the four defendants, requesting aggravated life imprisonment on charges of "complicity in the intentional killing of a child." 

The 4 defendants in custody appeared before the judge today.

WHO KILLED NARİN?

The hearing for the Narin Güran case, involving 4 defendants, began today in Diyarbakır. The court has not yet reached a verdict on who committed the crime. While the defendants' statements are being taken, the prosecution expects the perpetrator to be identified in the coming days of the trial.

STATEMENT FROM FATHER GÜRAN

Narin Güran's father, Arif Güran, made statements as a guest on journalist Rojda Altıntaş's social media channel.

Arif Güran said, "Why are the recordings from the camera 700 meters from my house not in the indictment?" he asked.
