Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP initiated a boycott against certain companies.
One of the companies on the boycott list is the bookstore and stationery chain D&R. Along with D&R, Idefix, which is in the same group, has also been added to the boycott list.
D&R is owned by the Turkuvaz Media Group, which also owns publications such as Sabah, ATV, and Takvim.
Özgür Özel announced the D&R boycott, stating: "When you need to buy a book, one's feet sometimes wander toward those beautiful structures, shops, and large glass windows; they go to D&R. Beware, do not stop by D&R. Specifically, I want to say this regarding these boycott lists. All sorts of lists are circulating left and right. Put them all aside. If we ignore those who ignore us, the others will see. The day will come, there are still those who annoy us, we will look into them too. But some of these clever, pro-government companies are circulating fake lists to target their innocent competitors. Therefore, look at what comes out of our mouths. Do you know there is something called Idefix? It no longer exists. Idefix no longer exists. No D&R, no Idefix."
