Will rental apartment prices increase? Experts explain

Activity is expected in the real estate sector due to weddings, public sector appointments such as teachers, doctors, and security guards, urban transformation relocations, and the increase in the number of new university students beginning their search for new homes as university placement results are finalized.

According to a report by Hamide Hangül from Dünya newspaper, real estate experts point out that this could bring new momentum to rental demand, estimated between 600 thousand and 1 million.

Hakan Akdoğan, Chairman of the Real Estate Committee of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), stated: "A busy period awaits us in the rental market. Unfortunately, we are entering a period where rental listings will increase, but finding a rental property will also be difficult." Pointing out that a new wave of demand will push prices upward, Akdoğan said, "During this period, prices for homes for sale may be more stable. However, rents will trend upward, on top of existing rents. There is a possibility that this wave of demand could increase rents by 20 to 30 percent."

Şerif Varlı, Chairman of the Board of Vartur Real Estate and International Real Estate Expert, stated that demand for rental properties is expected to increase starting from August and September, particularly in major cities.
