The winners of the 46th Istanbul Marathon have been announced!

The marathon, which holds the title of "the world's only intercontinental marathon" and is included in the "Gold Label" category of World Athletics, was held for the 46th time.

The marathon started at 09:00 on the Anatolian side, approximately 250 meters before the 15 July Martyrs Bridge toll booths.

WINNERS OF THE ISTANBUL MARATHON

Ethiopian athlete Dejene Debela won the men's race and Bahraini athlete Ruth Jebet won the women's race at the 46th Türkiye İş Bankası Istanbul Marathon.

COURSE

After crossing the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, participants in the marathon turned off at the Beşiktaş junction, descended to Beşiktaş via Barbaros Boulevard, and reached Karaköy by following the coastal road.

After the Galata Bridge, the athletes turned towards Sirkeci, followed the coastal road, and returned in the direction they came from in front of the Bakırköy Air Force Academy.

Continuing along the coastal road towards Gülhane Park and passing through the park, the athletes reached Sultanahmet Square via the tramway line. The race ended in the "Hippodrome," which was the meeting and sports center of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires, between the entrance gate of the Blue Mosque and the Obelisk.

AWARDS

A cash prize of 45 thousand dollars each will be awarded to the winners of the men's and women's categories at the 46th Istanbul Marathon.

The runners-up in the marathon will receive 20 thousand dollars each, and the third-place finishers will receive 10 thousand dollars each.

For Turkish athletes, the winners of the marathon will receive 50 thousand liras each, the runners-up 40 thousand liras each, and the third-place finishers 30 thousand liras each.

Additionally, an extra bonus of 5 thousand dollars will be awarded if the course records of 2.09.44 for men and 2.18.35 for women are broken. A total of 180 thousand dollars in prize money will be distributed among the elite athletes.
