Yeşilçam star Fatma Girik commemorated by 10 people
Fatma Girik, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, was commemorated with a ceremony held at her graveside in Bodrum. It was observed that approximately 10 people attended the memorial ceremony.

Fatma Girik, who starred in more than 200 films and television series between 1956 and 2012, spent the final years of her life in the Torba neighborhood of Bodrum.
Girik passed away on January 24, 2022, due to multiple organ failure that developed while she was receiving treatment for viral pneumonia linked to Covid-19.
The artist, who died at the age of 79, was commemorated with a ceremony held at the Torba Cemetery where she was laid to rest.
The ceremony was attended by Fatma Girik's sister Müyesser Girik, a few local residents, and Bodrum Municipality officials.
It was noted that approximately 10 people and 8 members of the press attended the memorial ceremony.
During the ceremony, prayers were recited for Fatma Girik, as well as for her mother Münevver Ukav, director Memduh Ün, and artist Akrep Nalan, who are also buried in the same cemetery.
Speaking briefly to the press after the ceremony, Müyesser Girik said, "We miss her, we long for her."
