Man runs over former brother-in-law with car
New details have emerged regarding the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a car in the Melikgazi district of Kayseri. It was determined that the driver of the car had run over his former brother-in-law, who had divorced his sister 4 years ago. Two suspects detained in connection with the incident were arrested by the court.

The incident occurred yesterday around 01:00 on Kadir Has Boulevard in the Bahçelievler neighborhood. The Fiat Tofaş brand car with license plate 38 AHS 929, driven by S.Ö. (22), struck Serdar Coşkun (43) and fled the scene. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. Serdar Coşkun, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Kayseri City Hospital by ambulance. Police teams conducting an investigation at the scene launched an effort to apprehend the fleeing driver.
During the search conducted by the teams around S.Ö.'s home, the car with license plate 38 AHS 929 was found parked in the building's parking lot. A short time later, S.Ö. and his friend who was in the car called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported their location.
The individuals, who surrendered to the police in an area near their home, were taken to the police station after a health check. Serdar Coşkun, who was seriously injured in the accident, could not be saved despite all the interventions of the doctors at Kayseri City Hospital and lost his life.
It turned out to be murder, not an accident
A comprehensive investigation into the incident was launched by the Murder Bureau of the Kayseri Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch. Camera footage analysis by the teams determined that the vehicle had intentionally struck the individual. It was learned that after hitting Coşkun, S.Ö. drove over him with the car, then got out of the vehicle to check his condition, and subsequently got back into the car and fled the scene.

It was learned that Serdar Coşkun, whom S.Ö. hit with the car and then drove over, was his former brother-in-law, that he had divorced his sister 4 years ago, and that there had been a 4-year-long feud between them following the divorce. S.Ö. and his friend S.T. (23), who was with him at the time of the murder, were referred to the courthouse after a health check and were arrested by the court. The individuals were sent to prison after their procedures were completed.
