Mother of girl sentenced to 7 years in prison for sharing her IBAN breaks down in tears
It has been reported that 17-year-old Sema Nur Tursun, who allegedly allowed her bank account and IBAN information to be used at the request of a friend while working at a tailor shop in Adana, was sentenced to 7 years in prison as part of fraud cases. Her mother, Cemile Tursun, who maintains that her daughter was deceived, tearfully pleaded with authorities for help.

Cemile Tursun, who lives in the central Seyhan district, explained the process they went through, claiming that her daughter was deceived by her circle of friends. Stating that her daughter's account was used while she was a minor, the mother, Tursun, expressed that they are suffering a great injustice.
Mother Cemile Tursun said, "My daughter became a victim of her friends. They deceived my daughter and took her card. My daughter is only 17 years old. Can my daughter withdraw a card? She is a victim."
Stating that they are struggling to survive under difficult conditions as a family, Tursun said, "I am a tenant. My husband is blind and both of my children are imprisoned. We are asking for amnesty from the authorities. Please help these victims."
Claiming that they only learned later that her daughter's IBAN was used for fraud, mother Tursun said, "They used my daughter's IBAN and defrauded 700 thousand liras. We pay the money, but another debt appears."
Claiming that the real culprits did not receive punishment, Cemile Tursun said, "The person who defrauded my daughter goes to court and they acquit them, but my daughter gets a sentence. My daughter received a 7-year sentence from two files. Other files are also coming up." Stating that her daughter being in prison affects her deeply, mother Tursun expressed her pain with the words, "I cannot breathe when I see my daughter in prison."
