According to information compiled by AA from Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) data, the total asset size of these banks increased by 30.2 percent compared to the end of 2023, rising to 25 trillion 213.7 billion liras.

Ziraat Bankası maintained its position as Turkey's largest bank with an asset size of 4 trillion 948 billion liras. The bank's asset size showed an increase of 30.2 percent compared to last year.

Ziraat Bankası was followed by VakıfBank with an asset size of 3.5 trillion liras, while Türkiye İş Bankası ranked third with 3.1 trillion liras. İş Bankası also maintained its title as the bank with the highest asset size among private banks.

Halkbank placed fourth with an asset size of 2.8 trillion liras, increasing its asset size by 31 percent over the 9-month period.

Halkbank was followed by Garanti BBVA (2.4 trillion liras), Yapı Kredi (2.3 trillion liras), Akbank (2.2 trillion liras), QNB (1.36 trillion liras), DenizBank (1.32 trillion liras), and Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası (825.6 billion liras), respectively.

The bank that increased its asset size the most during this period was QNB, with a 38 percent increase.

Garanti BBVA LEADS IN PROFITABILITY

In the January-September period, Garanti BBVA achieved the highest net profit with 66.9 billion liras. The bank increased its profit by 16.3 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
