New details emerge in the Narin Güran murder case! Explained with 480 pieces of evidence: Was the fortune teller issue a tactic?

General Hüseyin Kurtoğlu explained the details of the search and investigation process carried out following Narin Güran's disappearance.

"When it was realized within the first three days that the family and villagers were misleading the gendarmerie, judicial authorities intervened and an official investigation was launched. From the third day onwards, the investigation passed entirely under the control of judicial authorities," he said.

According to the report on Sputnik, Kurtoğlu also explained the reason for the Provincial Gendarmerie Commander's statement on the 8th day that "The circle is tightening" as follows:

"We needed to gain the family's trust for the investigation to proceed effectively. Constant false reports were being made, and time was being wasted with misleading information. This statement was made to keep the family under control."

WHY WAS THE FORTUNE TELLER VISITED?

Clarifying the fortune teller issue, which was one of the most criticized aspects of the investigation, Kurtoğlu confirmed that Salim Güran went to a fortune teller under gendarmerie supervision. However, he emphasized that this process was a tactic to gather evidence:

"The gendarmerie did not go to a fortune teller, but there was accompanying personnel following Güran. Everything discussed during the meeting was recorded in minutes and reported to the command. All procedures were fully implemented during the investigation process."

Sharing the details of the search efforts conducted after Narin Güran's disappearance, Kurtoğlu stated that AFAD and local teams searched the scene twice, but the child could not be found.

"We evaluated the situation and sent the professional diving team of the Gendarmerie Special Public Security Command in Ankara to the region. He explained that they reached Narin's lifeless body under the stones by entering the sewage system."

Stating that the investigation was conducted meticulously, Kurtoğlu reacted to the criticisms made through the media.

"This investigation was conducted perfectly. However, the media created a perception as if the gendarmerie was incompetent. Yet, there are many unsolved missing persons cases in the world and in Turkey. We solved the Narin murder in a short time. This is an undeserved perception," he said.

480 PIECES OF EVIDENCE OBTAINED

Emphasizing the gendarmerie's success in criminal investigations, Kurtoğlu provided the following information about the evidence obtained in the investigation:

"Once the vehicle used to transport Narin's body was identified, it was taken to the Van Criminal Laboratory by tow truck without allowing any interference. During the examinations conducted there, exactly 480 different findings were identified. Saliva samples taken from Salim Güran were also found thanks to these analyses."

The Narin Güran murder investigation continues to resonate widely with the public. Gendarmerie officials state that the evidence was collected meticulously to be evaluated in the judicial process and that the investigation was conducted transparently. New developments are expected to be announced in the coming days.
