In Istanbul, 14 suspects detained on allegations of transferring newborn emergency patients to neonatal units of private hospitals they had pre-arranged agreements with, causing their deaths and obtaining illicit financial gain, have been referred to the courthouse.

"POLICE PROCESSING COMPLETED"
The police processing of the 14 suspects, who were detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "qualified fraud," "bribery," "manslaughter by omission," and "forgery of official documents," has been completed.
The suspects were referred to the Büyükçekmece Courthouse.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 16 suspects acting with doctor Fırat Sarı, who is alleged to be the leader of an organized crime group and accused of transferring emergency newborn patients to neonatal units of private hospitals they had pre-arranged, causing their deaths, and obtaining illicit gains, had been identified.

Teams from the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Branch apprehended 14 suspects, including 5 doctors, 3 nurses, 5 healthcare workers, and 1 civilian, in an operation they conducted on December 4.
