Katırcı, a mother of three, stated that her husband beat her repeatedly throughout their marriage after drinking alcohol, saying, "He beat me on the fourth day of our marriage. He also beat me while I was pregnant. When he drank, he would hit me with whatever he could get his hands on, completely out of control. I walked around with a black eye throughout our marriage. I didn't file complaints back then, but now I file them constantly," she said.

Stating that she has obtained 8 restraining orders against her ex-husband to date, Katırcı noted that there is currently no active restraining order in place and that she reports threats and harassment through the KADES application. Claiming that her ex-husband threatens her with death, Katırcı said, "What haven't I been through? He is making my life a living hell. He previously sent me a burial shroud. Now he is threatening me by saying, 'I will buy you a grave.' He comes and pulls a gun or a knife on me. I am constantly receiving threats. He calls my friends and slanders me, saying, 'She is going down a bad path.' He is constantly applying psychological pressure. He says, 'I will make it so you can't go outside.' Maybe he will throw acid in my face; I don't know what he will do." Expressing that her social life has completely changed due to the fear she experiences, Katırcı added, "I cannot leave the house; my mental health has deteriorated."
