With the rise in flu and cold cases accompanying seasonal changes, dishes that strengthen immunity are preferred more often. Chicken soup is one of the first recipes that comes to mind for families due to its both nutritious and filling content. As a staple of Turkish cuisine, this soup has been known as a "source of healing" from the past to the present, and it holds a special place in hearts not only for its taste but also for the warmth and comfort it provides.

HOW TO PREPARE?

To prepare chicken soup, you first place the chicken in a pot and fill it with water. After it starts boiling over high heat, you should skim off the foam that forms and boil the chicken over low heat for about half an hour. Then, remove the meat from the water, shred it, and set it aside. While the soup broth continues to boil, finely chopped carrots and potatoes are added. Once the vegetables have softened, vermicelli is added and it continues to boil. Finally, the shredded chicken pieces are added back into the pot, the salt is adjusted, and it is boiled for a few more minutes.

For those who like their soup with a creamy base (terbiye), it is sufficient to whisk an egg yolk and lemon juice in a bowl, add a ladle of the soup to the mixture to temper it, and then add the mixture to the pot. After stirring and boiling one last time, your soup is ready to serve.

Offering warmth and health in every bowl, chicken soup can be enriched according to your taste with small touches. Especially on winter days, this soup, which is the crown jewel of the table, offers a both delicious and healing alternative for your loved ones.
