Following the approval of the registration application made by the Kırkağaç District Governorate in 2021, the "Kırkağaç çakal pideli paça" dish has become the district's third product with a geographical indication, following the "Kırkağaç topalak" dish and the "Kırkağaç Melon."
Stating that Kırkağaç has a very rich culinary culture and that the local people have kept this tradition alive for many years, Kırkağaç District Governor Zafer Oktay said, “The application made by our District Governorate for our pideli paça dish, which is indispensable for tables at weddings, holidays, and special occasions in our Kırkağaç district, which is quite attached to its traditions, has been concluded positively. As a result of research that lasted approximately 2 years by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, a registration certificate was granted for the Kırkağaç Çakal Pideli Paça dish, which is identified with our district.
I would like to thank the former District Governor Murat Büyükköse, our Mayor Yaşar İsmail Gedüz, the President and members of the Kırkağaç Historical Gourmet City Development Association, and our EU Project Coordinator Mustafa Tıpırtın for their contributions to obtaining the Geographical Indication, which will provide great support to the initiatives taken to make Kırkağaç a gourmet city,” he said.
The Kırkağaç Historical Gourmet City Development Association also played a major role in promoting the çakal pideli paça dish by selling it at the stand it has regularly set up on Tuesdays and Saturdays in recent years.
