Alanya, a district of Antalya, has seen one of its local delicacies, Alanya pistachio lemonade, registered with a 'Geographical Indication'.
Announcing the 'Geographical Indication' decision by TÜRKPATENT, Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) President Ali Çandır stated, "Congratulations on the registration of Alanya pistachio lemonade, which is the 17th geographically indicated product of our Antalya. I would like to thank our Alanya Municipality for securing the registration of this product, which holds an important place in the culinary culture and traditions of our Alanya district."
Alanya pistachio lemonade, for which the Alanya Municipality applied for 'Geographical Indication' registration to TÜRKPATENT in May 2023, is defined as a non-alcoholic beverage prepared by mixing and straining lemon, orange, white granulated sugar, and water according to the production method, with the addition of freshly roasted, peeled, unsalted peanuts.
NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVORINGS USED
It is also emphasized that no color stabilizers or artificial flavorings can be used in the production of this lemonade.
Once produced in Alanya to serve guests on special occasions such as engagements and weddings, Alanya pistachio lemonade has become widely produced for daily consumption and trade over time, holding a significant place in the district's culinary culture and traditions.
