Bitlis honey makes its name known to the whole world: Received an award from Paris

Bitlis, one of Turkey's most important honey production centers, has successfully demonstrated the quality of the honey produced in its high-altitude plateaus, which boast a rich flora.

Bitlis honey, which was recently sent to laboratories in Paris for international honey competitions, was awarded the gold honey prize in terms of its proline value, moisture content, and pollen count.

200 BEEKEEPERS FROM 45 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATED

The fact that Bitlis honey achieved the top ranking in this evaluation, which included 200 beekeepers from approximately 45 countries, brought great joy to the beekeepers in the city.

Bitlis beekeeper Serdar Naci Ersan stated that he applied to the international honey competition in Paris with the honey he produced in the city's high-altitude plateaus, which have a rich vegetation.

'ORGANIC FARMING PRINCIPLES WERE FOLLOWED'

Stating that they produce their honey in plateaus at an altitude of over 2,500 meters, Ersan said, "There are approximately 1,200 types of plants in our plateaus. These are the most important factors that determine the quality of our honey. Our honey, every stage of which we produced according to organic farming principles, was deemed worthy of the gold honey award in Paris, the capital of France, this year."
