With a decision published in the Official Gazette, 1 million patients receiving smoking cessation treatment will be able to benefit from medications provided by the Ministry free of charge.

A presidential decree regarding the provision of free medication support to patients undergoing smoking cessation treatment has been published in the Official Gazette.
According to the decision, patients in the treatment process will be able to benefit from medications provided by the Ministry of Health free of charge, limited to 1 million people.
The regulation states that it will not matter whether the patients have social security coverage or not.
Nicotine replacement preparations and drugs containing Bupropion HCl, Varenicline, and Cytisine will be included in the scope of support.
These products will be distributed by the Ministry to primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare institutions and organizations.
Patients will be able to access the medications in question through tobacco addiction treatment and education units.
The Minister of Health will be responsible for the execution of the provisions of the decision.
