A new alternative for couples wanting to have children

A new study has revealed that sperm motility can be increased by up to 266% with ultrasound support. This has created a new alternative for couples who want to have children.

There are certain conditions required to have children. One of these conditions is that sperm must have a certain capacity for motility. A new study has proven that sperm motility can be increased by up to 266% with ultrasound support. With this study, an increase in the egg fertilization rate is also expected.

AN INCREASE OF MORE THAN 2.5 TIMES

In the project conducted under the umbrella of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and led by Ali Vafaie, the role that ultrasound can play in assisted reproduction was highlighted. With a method called single-cell study, individual sperm were each supported by ultrasound technique. As a result of the study, the motility of the sperm increased significantly. The sperm, tested with a technique called microfluidic dripping, hold great promise for those who want to have children.

In the developed method, not only did the speed of moving sperm increase, but inactive sperm cells were also activated. With this important discovery, our knowledge of the microscopic world of sperm has increased, and it has been revealed that the structures of future treatments could change significantly.

Researchers attribute this situation to changes in mitochondrial activity and state that mechanotherapy could be important for assisted reproductive activities. These methods will both prevent the disruption of the body's integrity and help to further reduce costs. Vafaie and his team state that they are quite hopeful about the applications of the study.
