Acıbadem Sağlık Hizmetleri ve Ticaret AŞ, the Turkish subsidiary of Malaysia-based IHH Healthcare Berhad, is preparing to take a significant step in the healthcare sector. The company has officially applied to acquire an 80 percent stake in Bayek Tedavi Sağlık Hizmetleri ve İşletmeciliği AŞ (Bayındır Healthcare Group), which is a subsidiary of Trakya Yatırım Holding, an affiliate of Türkiye İş Bankası.
With a 33-year history, Bayındır Healthcare Group is among Turkey's well-established healthcare institutions. The group provides services through three hospitals: Bayındır Söğütözü Hospital, Bayındır İçerenköy Hospital, and Bayındır Kavaklıdere Hospital. Additionally, the healthcare group operates six dental clinics.
If the Competition Authority grants approval, the management of Bayındır Healthcare Group will largely pass to Acıbadem Healthcare Group. With this acquisition, Acıbadem aims to further strengthen its presence in the healthcare sector. Once the process is completed, Bayındır Healthcare Group's existing services will combine with Acıbadem's experience to reach a wider patient base.
The acquisition process is expected to be clarified following the Competition Authority's evaluation in the coming days.
