"IT CAUSES THE DEATH OF 8 MILLION PEOPLE EVERY YEAR"

Prof. Dr. Esra Yazar said, "May 31st World No Tobacco Day is celebrated with various events all over the world. Our hope is for this to be realized, of course. Tobacco is widely used all over the world. And it is a substance estimated to cause the death of 8 million people every year. The widespread use, especially among children and young people, is alarming. We organized this seminar to discuss what efforts we can make to raise awareness on this issue, to prevent people from starting, and to help those who have started to quit, and how we can increase existing efforts."

"I WANT TO QUIT"

A citizen who attended the seminar with his spouse to quit smoking said, "I have been smoking for 32 years. I decided to quit many times but couldn't. My wife quit, and now I want to quit too. That's why we came here; I hope I will quit."

His wife said, "I have been smoking for 14 years. I decided to quit. That feeling is different. I don't smell anymore, and I breathe comfortably," she said.
