ARE FAMILY PHYSICIANS WORKING TOMORROW OR ARE THEY ON STRIKE?
Family medicine employees have decided to walk out again. The Family Medicine Employees Union (AHESEN) announced in a statement on its official X account that family physicians will go on strike nationwide on March 14, Medicine Day.
In its post regarding the matter, AHESEN included the following statements:
'Remaining silent is losing!
We continue our rightful struggle for our professional honor and public health.
To be able to celebrate future March 14ths like a holiday, we are walking out and taking to the streets this March 14.
We will not give up the fight until the ‘Persecution Regulation,’ which increases the problems of family medicine employees and our citizens, is abolished!'
ARE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS AND HOSPITALS CLOSED ON MARCH 14?
According to the decision taken, doctors, midwives, and nurses working in family medicine centers will hold a nationwide walkout on March 14, Medicine Day. For this reason, the working status of family physicians may vary depending on the province and health center.
Since March 14 is not a public holiday, health institutions will continue to provide services under normal conditions. Therefore, hospitals are expected to be open.
Patients and their relatives can check the operational status of the institutions where they plan to receive health services through the contact information of their local District Health Directorate or Family Health Centers.

In the statement made by the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), it was stated, "On March 14, we are on STRIKE to protect our profession and the public's right to health, and to explain to our patients and the public that 'Another Health System' is possible! On March 14, we invite all physicians and healthcare workers to go on STRIKE to protest the current health system and management, which no longer has the chance to provide goodness to patients and employees, and to explain 'Another Health System' to the relevant authorities and the public."
