A 42-year-old woman named H. Civil, who underwent breast fillers for aesthetic purposes, stated that she lost both of her breasts following procedures performed at a private clinic in Şişli. Civil alleged that the person who performed the procedure was not a plastic surgeon, but a dentist. The Ministry of Health took action upon the complaint and launched an investigation.
'I LEARNED THAT THEY WERE A DENTIST'
According to a report by Sabah, H. Civil, who had breast fillers at a private clinic in Şişli, Istanbul, lost both of her breasts. Explaining that she returned to the clinic after redness appeared at the injection site within a week of the operation, but was told that this was a temporary and normal process, Civil described her experience as follows:
"I waited a little longer, but the redness on my breast began to increase significantly. During this time, I called the clinic owner, F. Ö., many times, but they always put me off. When I went to the facility, they intervened, saying that the filler material in my breast would be drained. Dr. T. Ö. and F. Ö., who had performed the previous procedure on me, intervened. During this time, I learned that F. Ö. was a dentist. They tried to drain the filler from my breast; I made them stop the procedure by saying that I was in a lot of pain because they were trying to drain the filler by squeezing it with the help of a needle, and the infection had worsened significantly."
'THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS THE REMOVAL OF MY BREASTS'
Stating that she went to other doctors during this process and was hospitalized for treatment for a week, Civil said, "Afterward, the redness and infection in my breast recurred. There was no hospital I didn't go to; as a result, they told me that my breasts had to be removed. While I was going through this, I sent messages to the clinic many times, but they did not respond; they left me helpless in this situation. I have filed my complaints with the necessary authorities and continue to do so. I am very sad; I want such businesses to be inspected," she said.
