There are encouraging developments regarding the health status of Ufuk Özkan, who has been receiving treatment in the hospital for some time following a diagnosis of liver failure. As a result of the medical interventions carried out by the specialist team, a significant improvement has been observed in Özkan's general health indicators, and preliminary preparations for the transplant have begun to be completed.

Organ Transplant Specialist Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak stated, "When Mr. Ufuk was admitted to our hospital, his Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score was at 22. With the medical treatments we applied, we achieved a significant improvement in his general condition and managed to reduce this score from 22 to 14." Prof. Dr. Yaprak also stated that this improvement significantly reduces the risks that could be encountered during the transplant operation.

It was also stated that the search for a living donor has concluded. Cameraman Salih Kıvırcık, a friend of Özkan's from his television projects, was found to be anatomically suitable during the examinations and received approval from the Ethics Committee. Thus, the living donor to be used in Özkan's liver transplant has been determined.

Organ Transplant Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Esin Gülkaya Anık said regarding the transplant process, "The legal approval processes for Salih Kıvırcık, who is the most suitable donor candidate, have been completed. We have begun our preparations for a successful operation with both our recipient, Ufuk Özkan, and our donor, Mr. Salih."
