STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PHYSICIAN

Following the development that plunged Turkey into mourning, Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu, Chief Physician of Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, made a statement in front of the hospital.

Prof. Dr. Topçu stated the following:

"Following the treatment and intensive care processes of our mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, which have been ongoing since Friday, June 5, at 23:00, our esteemed mayor passed away today as of 17:05, despite all interventions. We have lost him. I wish God's mercy upon him; I offer my condolences and patience to his loved ones and family. That is all I have to say."
