He caught a shark and distributed it to cancer patients

Şahin Gökalp and his team, who went fishing in the Yumurtalık and Karataş regions of Adana, caught a rare shark in the Mediterranean in their nets. The fishermen, who struggled to pull the 4.5-meter-long giant shark onto their boat, began displaying this extraordinary catch at their fish shop in Adana. The shark attracted great interest from the public.

Gökalp stated that after hearing claims that shark meat is beneficial for cancer patients, he distributed the fish to them for free. "As professors have also noted, the shark is the only living creature that does not get cancer. For this reason, we distributed it free of charge to all our customers who are cancer patients. In the past, we had caught a 6.5-meter-long shark in a similar way and distributed it to the public. It is difficult to catch, but it was just as laborious to haul it out," he said. Gökalp added that sharks appear for a few days during this season every year.
