Mansur Yavaş announces his projects: Free HPV vaccine support will be provided to women in Ankara

Continuing his local election campaign, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced his election promises at the ‘2024-2029 Projects Promotion Ceremony’ held at the Ankara Sports Hall.

Explaining the projects he will carry out over the next five years if re-elected before the March 31 elections, Yavaş touched upon his plans, particularly in the field of health.

Yavaş said, "In order to prevent cervical cancer, we will launch an HPV vaccination program for women under 30 who receive social support."

'WE WILL BE THE FIRST TO STAND BY OUR PEOPLE'

Yavaş stated the following:

“Just as it was five years ago, our biggest project today is still our people. Nothing has changed. What did we say? We said, ‘No one in this city will go hungry or be left out in the cold,’ and ‘No child will go to bed shivering.’ We said, ‘No child will be deprived of education,’ and in accordance with our beliefs and culture, we said, ‘the left hand shall not see what the right hand gives.’

Through the Capital Card (Başkent Kart), we are supporting more than 200 thousand families, tradespeople, farmers, retirees, and students. As a municipality that has pioneered many firsts in Turkey, we promise that we will once again be the first to stand by our people."

'WE WILL ENSURE OUR CHILDREN ARE FED HEALTHILY'

"We know that the high cost of living makes life harder for our people every day. For this reason, we are increasing our social support by 70 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year. We will ensure our children are fed healthily. We will not let our children get cold. We will not stand by and watch them feel dejected among their peers.

We will do this so that the children of families who have been receiving social support for three generations can be healthy, study, and produce for themselves and our country. We will do this to move beyond social support being an accepted family tradition and to ensure they look to the future with hope. We will do this to show that while there are 200 thousand poor people living in the city, the craziest project is to stand by them."

'WE WILL LAUNCH THE HPV VACCINATION PROGRAM'

"We will also take important steps in the field of health. We will open a residential guest house to improve the quality of life for Alzheimer's patients and their families. With the Advanced Age Healthy Living Center we will open, we will ensure our elders lead a social and independent life. We have a new plan to combat obesity, one of the biggest problems in the world and our country. With our dietitian assistance project, we will increase public health and awareness. One of the most important issues is the health of our women. As you know, we are a municipality famous for our firsts. We will once again achieve a first in Turkey. In order to prevent cervical cancer, we will launch an HPV vaccination program for women under 30 who receive social support."

'PUBLIC HEALTH ACTION PLAN PROJECT'

"We will also implement our Public Health Action Plan project. Accompanied by a scientific committee to be formed from representatives of various universities, we will make improvements in the field of health through cooperation and solidarity. We will open Turkey's largest autism center in Batıkent. In addition, we will add value to our city with our barrier-free sports center and barrier-free living village project. With the 'Ata Houses' (Ancestor Houses) and Senior Citizens' Club we will establish for our elders, we will increase their social welfare and ensure they spend their time more actively."
