New fraudulent products uncovered in food inspections

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has shared the results of its inspections conducted to ensure food safety with the public. Many new brands have been added to the updated 'Adulterated or Misbranded Foods' list. In this list, elements threatening human health were detected in products such as lahmacun, kebabs, and pastrami.

During the inspections, unwanted materials such as mechanically separated meat were found in some sausages, gizzards in lahmacun, and kidneys in kebabs. It was also revealed that dye was used in pastrami products, which are known for their high prices. Notably, dye was detected in the products of a pastrami brand in Bursa.

It was determined that 'mechanically separated poultry meat' was used in the Tütüncüoğlu and Ceylaner Sucukları brands operating in Afyonkarahisar. Bulk pastrami sold under the Tekin Çapan brand was found to contain food coloring. Additionally, some cooked products were also included in the list.

While chicken meat was found in the lahmacun of the Es Onur pide restaurant in Eskişehir, kidneys were detected in the kebabs of the Güri Hamid Kebap salon. The list of such fraudulent products and their manufacturers has been announced to the public.
