New practice for prescription drugs: Number of prescriptions increasing
The Social Security Institution (SGK) is implementing a new practice to facilitate access to medication for patients with medical reports. The number of drugs that family physicians can prescribe for patients with medical reports has been increased to 1,858. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that the SGK will notify citizens via SMS regarding which drugs are included in this scope.

A new era has begun for patients who receive prescription drugs based on medical reports. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that they have increased the number of drugs that family physicians can prescribe for patients with medical reports to 1,858 and that they will send informational messages to citizens regarding which drugs are included in this scope.
In a statement on his social media account, Işıkhan used the following expressions:
"We are implementing a new practice to facilitate our patients' access to medication for those with medical reports. We have increased the number of drugs that family physicians can prescribe for patients with medical reports to 1,858. We will inform our citizens via SMS sent by our Social Security Institution about which drugs will be included in this scope."
