'Treatment for scabies has become easier'
While there has been an increase in scabies cases in Muğla, it has been announced that traditional treatment methods for the disease are a thing of the past and that treatment is now much easier.

It has been announced that while traditional treatment methods were applied for scabies in previous years, new medications have emerged that locate and paralyze the parasites, making treatment significantly easier today.
Stating that treatment for scabies has become easier, Muğla Training and Research Hospital Dermatology Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arslan Yürekli said, "Scabies is a disease we have been seeing frequently in our outpatient clinics recently. Previously, we only used topical medications to treat this disease. That is, the patient would apply the medication to their entire body from the neck down and wait for a certain period. Now, our hands are stronger in treatment; we can also use oral tablets. What do these oral tablets do? They find the parasite and paralyze it. In this way, they kill the parasite, eliminate the need for the patient to apply medication all over their body, and we can use this medication safely. We are now stronger in the treatment of scabies."
