In recent days, a condition referred to by the public and in common parlance as 'white lung syndrome' has been a topic of discussion.
White lung syndrome, which allegedly emerged in China and has since been seen in countries such as the US and the Netherlands, has become a subject of curiosity on social media.
The syndrome, which is thought to be a new combination of viruses and bacteria, is estimated to be caused by environmental factors.
'WHITE SPOTS ARE OBSERVED'
Chemical engineer Ender Bozkurt, who made statements regarding white lung syndrome, stated, "The symptoms of this disease are cough, wheezing, fever, and shortness of breath. White spots are observed on lung X-rays."
'PNEUMONIA TREATMENT IS APPLIED'
Providing information on the treatment of the disease, Bozkurt said, "Pneumonia treatment is being applied and antibiotics are being administered," and added the following:
"The accumulation of calcium in the lungs leads to pneumonia-like symptoms and responds positively to antibiotic treatment. An interesting study shows that two female patients in their seventies experienced pneumonia and the symptoms listed above after accidentally inhaling 'calcium' carbonate tablets they were taking for osteoporosis, causing them to enter their lungs.
Antibiotics are given and pneumonia treatment is applied. Both recover from their ailments."
