World's best hospitals list announced: Turkey's position draws attention

International organizations publish "world's best hospitals" lists every year by evaluating criteria such as hospital quality, patient satisfaction, technological infrastructure, and research activities. While approximately 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries are generally evaluated in these lists, those that rank in the top 250 stand out. 

The "World’s Best Hospitals 2025" list is created using a methodology that includes peer recommendations, patient experience, quality indicators, and institutions' implementation of PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures). 

TURKEY IS NOT ON THE LIST 

While the US and Switzerland left their mark on the top 10, Turkey did not feature in this 2025 ranking. The absence of Turkey from the "World’s Best Hospitals 2025" list came as a surprise. The reason for this is that Turkey was not among the 30 countries included in the evaluation.

According to the list in question, the world's best hospitals are; 

10. Universitätsspital Zürich – Zurich, Switzerland

9. Singapore General Hospital (SGH) – Singapore

8. Sheba Medical Center – Ramat Gan, Israel

7. Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany

6. Massachusetts General Hospital – Boston, USA

5. Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset – Stockholm, Sweden

4. The Johns Hopkins Hospital – Baltimore, USA

3. Toronto General – University Health Network, Canada

2. Cleveland Clinic – Cleveland, USA

1. Mayo Clinic – Rochester, USA
