The fugitive suspect in an investigation launched over the alleged theft of gold and jewelry worth approximately 2 million lira on a flight from Dubai to Ankara has been caught at Esenboğa Airport.
The incident came to light when A.T.E., who stated that they were sleeping during the flight, discovered that their jewelry pouch was missing from their bag. An investigation determined that the only passenger sitting in the row behind the victim was a Chinese national named Han Zuo.
Zuo, who was reported to have left the country following the theft allegation, was detained at Esenboğa approximately 18 days later while attempting to enter Turkey on the same flight route from Dubai to Ankara.
A necklace, which is considered to be identical to the one described by the victim, was found on the suspect. Bundles of foreign currency from numerous countries were also seized from their bag.
The investigation revealed that Zuo had traveled to over 100 countries by plane in the last year. It was learned that the investigation has been expanded due to the possibility that the suspect may have committed thefts using similar methods in other countries.
