Access ban decision for 246 social media accounts

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that an access ban decision has been issued for 246 social media accounts and links deemed to have made speculative posts capable of causing fear and panic among investors regarding capital market instruments.

According to the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an investigation was initiated ex officio by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Cybercrimes Investigation Bureau. During the examination, it was determined that posts appearing on certain social media platforms and reflected in the public domain were intended, directly or indirectly, to speculate about capital market instruments.

In this context, the Istanbul 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to block access to 246 accounts and links. It was stated that the file has been sent to the Presidency of Cyber Security for the implementation of the decision.
