Ali Yerlikaya issues warning: 200,000 TL fine coming for those who do this
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced that heavy penalties are on the way for such violations, following the apprehension of a driver in Sincan, Ankara, who failed to comply with a police "stop" order.

Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that a motorcycle rider, R.E.İ., who fled after failing to comply with a police "stop" order in Sincan, was apprehended and issued an administrative fine. Yerlikaya stated, "The motorcycle rider certainly could not escape us," and noted that the penalty was applied in accordance with the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918.
Reminding that the current penalty for failing to comply with a "stop" order is 2,167 Turkish Lira, Yerlikaya questioned the deterrent effect of this fine. Stating that they have lost 9 martyrs, have 16 veterans, and 29 civilians have lost their lives due to such violations in the last six years, Yerlikaya emphasized that this situation is unacceptable.
NEW PENALTY PROPOSAL
Announcing that according to the new Traffic Law Proposal, an administrative fine of 200,000 Turkish Lira will be imposed on drivers who fail to comply with a "stop" order, Yerlikaya also stated that these drivers' licenses will be suspended for 60 days and their vehicles will be banned from traffic. Stating that such behaviors that endanger traffic safety are unacceptable, Yerlikaya asked citizens to report those who violate traffic rules to the 112 Emergency Call Center and said, "We will do what is necessary."
