Arrest request for MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu: 7 suspects referred to court

Within the scope of the investigation numbered 2025/83127 conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation into Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes, 7 suspects, including Central Referee Board (MHK) President Ferhat Gündoğdu, have been referred to the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest.
The investigation file states that there is "strong suspicion of crime" regarding the suspects, based on complainant and witness statements, MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) and HTS (Historical Traffic Search) analyses, expert reports, digital materials, and audio recordings.
The charges directed at the suspects in the Prosecutor's Office's referral document include abuse of office, threats, forgery of official documents by a public official, breach of trust due to service, and unlawful recording of personal data.
ALLEGATIONS IN THE FILE
Within the scope of the investigation, allegations that some referees and observers were removed from their classifications without objective justification, that referee assignment and scoring processes were interfered with, and that referees were profiled based on their personal or social circles were evaluated.
It was also reported that the file includes findings and statements regarding the alteration of certain examination papers during an exam held in Riva in 2025, and that MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu threatened a referee.
The suspects referred for arrest and the charges directed at them are as follows: Ferhat Gündoğdu for abuse of office and threats; Ferdi Karadoruk for breach of trust due to service, unlawful recording of personal data, and possession of obscene publications involving children; Ahmet Şahin and Alican Sağlar for unlawful recording of personal data; Emre Kosif for abuse of office and unlawful recording of personal data; Sebahattin Şahin for forgery of official documents by a public official; and Yunus Yıldırım for abuse of office.
It was reported that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, taking into account the current state of evidence and the nature and character of the crimes, requested the arrest of the 7 suspects in accordance with Article 100 and subsequent articles of the Criminal Procedure Code.
