Details regarding the prosecutor's testimony of Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known on social media as "Vanlı Kara Haydar," have emerged. Tançalan, who made headlines with his wedding footage and posts about his luxury lifestyle, was arrested on charges of "laundering assets derived from crime."
In the investigation conducted by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was alleged that Tançalan frequently traveled to Dubai, generated income of unknown origin through the mail-order method, and maintained a luxurious lifestyle with these earnings. It was learned that a report regarding the suspect's assets was requested from MASAK as part of the investigation.
In his testimony, Tançalan denied the accusations, claiming that the expenses for his wedding and engagement were covered by advertising and sponsorship agreements made thanks to the social media visibility of himself and his wife, Çağla Tançalan. Tançalan argued that services such as the wedding dress, organization, vacations, and other services were provided free of charge in exchange for advertising.
Regarding the gold jewelry worn at the wedding and engagement, Tançalan also provided an explanation, stating that his financial situation was not sufficient to purchase the gold, and that the jewelry was borrowed from a jeweler and later returned to the jeweler.
Regarding the footage taken with police officers during the wedding, which sparked controversy on social media, Tançalan claimed that he had no intention of offending or humiliating public officials. He alleged that the footage was taken and shared without his knowledge.
