Buse Akgün Gök, who was stabbed in a schoolyard, has died: Her father recounts the threatening messages

Buse Akgün Gök has passed away in the hospital where she was receiving treatment, 7 days after being stabbed in a schoolyard by her husband, Bayram Gök, from whom she was in the process of divorcing. Bayram Gök, who was taken into custody following the incident, was arrested by the court to which he was referred.

It was learned that Buse Akgün Gök, who had reportedly filed for divorce due to severe incompatibility, had moved to the neighborhood where her family lived. On September 17, Buse Akgün Gök was attacked in the yard of the Şehit Turgay Topsakaloğlu Primary School, where she had gone to pick up her daughter.

FATHER ALLEGES PREMEDITATED MURDER

Buse Akgün Gök's father, Hasan Akgün, claimed that the attack was premeditated. Akgün stated that there was a parent-teacher meeting at the school on the day of the incident, and that Bayram Gök had claimed he worked shifts at a gas station and was on the night shift.

Hasan Akgün stated that the children had been taken by Bayram Gök's mother shortly before the incident, saying, "Bayram comes there too and stabs my child. This is a planned murder."

Stating that his daughter had been harassed previously, Akgün alleged that Bayram Gök's brother had also sent threatening messages. Akgün said the messages included phrases such as, "I am holding my brother back. He will shoot you if necessary. I will look after my brother while he is inside."

Noting that Buse Akgün Gök had not deleted the messages in question, her father Akgün reported that his daughter's phone was being examined by the police. Akgün also said that they had noticed a matchbox-sized device in the children's bags that made a sound, and that they did not realize at first that it could be a tracking device.

Hasan Akgün, who also argued that the children were not being shown to their mother during the divorce process, stated that the children were taken into state care on the day of the incident and that the family would take steps to take the children into their custody.

Stating that he would dedicate himself to his grandchildren from now on, Akgün called for an end to femicides: "A person can get married or get divorced, but in the end, those people also need to be able to live their lives."
