Changes to promotion criteria from the HSK

With a principle decision by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) published in the Official Gazette, the calculation method applied to the promotion of judges and prosecutors has been changed. The provision requiring that "10 points below the percentages be taken as the basis" has been removed, and it was announced that the new regulation will come into effect in the August 2026 promotion period.

With a principle decision published in the Official Gazette, the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) has made changes to the principles regarding the promotion of judges and prosecutors.

Within the scope of the new regulation, the provision applied in promotion evaluations that stipulated "10 points below the percentages be taken as the basis" has been repealed. The provision in question was located in Article 12 of the 2018 principle decision.

With the decision taken, a temporary article was also added to the principle text. It was stated that with this article, the change made would be implemented in accordance with the decision of the General Assembly of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors dated April 22, 2026.

It was stated that the regulation will be valid starting from the August 2026 promotion period.
