Dilan Polat released under judicial control

Dilan Polat was detained as part of an investigation launched following a complaint petition submitted to the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by a former close friend.

It was stated that the WhatsApp messages, which served as the basis for the investigation, allegedly contained expressions by Polat insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

After being processed at the police station, Polat was referred to the courthouse and brought before the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control. The judgeship decided to release Polat under judicial control measures, which include a requirement to sign in once a week and a travel ban.

Dilan Polat had also been detained in 2023 as part of a financial crimes investigation conducted alongside her husband, Engin Polat, and some of their relatives. In that case, charges related to "establishing/managing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "laundering assets derived from crime," and illegal betting were brought to the fore.

In the preliminary investigation report by MASAK, it was stated that approximately 200 million liras had been transferred to companies owned by family members from three companies in liquidation through the use of fake invoices. As part of the investigation, searches were conducted at the companies, digital materials and ledgers were seized, and trustees were appointed to 27 companies.

In that investigation, some suspects, including Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, and Sıla Doğu, were arrested; Dilan Polat remained in prison for approximately 9.5 months.
