The second hearing in the case regarding the armed attack in Istanbul in March, which targeted a vehicle carrying rapper Canbay and resulted in the death of young footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, will be held on July 13.

Speaking to Show Haber before the hearing, the Kundakçı family demanded that the incident be clarified in all its aspects. The family argued that there were contradictions between rapper Canbay's statements in court and his previous remarks.

REACTION FROM THE FAMILY TO THE TESTIMONY

Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı's father, Cemil Kundakçı, reacted to Canbay's statements in the hearing, saying, "Canbay changed his testimony and took on a completely different character. Why did he change?"

Father Kundakçı stated that the incident happened in a very short time and drew attention to the questions and answers in court. Kundakçı said, "The incident took place in 5-6 seconds. The judge asks, 'Could you have opened the door?' and he says, 'It's possible.' He asks, 'Could you have kicked the killer?' and he answers, 'Maybe it's possible.' I was shocked."

Kundakçı's mother also expressed her disappointment, saying, "I realized that I made a mistake by standing behind him." Referring to one of Canbay's songs, mother Kundakçı expressed her reaction with the words, "You know he has a song; 'Only God is infallible.' He should sit and listen to the songs he wrote until tomorrow. What did I write, what am I living through?"

Father Kundakçı, addressing Canbay, said, "There is a person you called 'my brother' who died because of your issue, and you are leaving him alone."

WHAT WAS SAID IN THE FIRST HEARING?

Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who is a detained defendant in the file, said in his defense at the previous hearing that he met Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu a few weeks before the date of the incident and that they were lovers. Arguing that he did not know the people in the vehicle were there while going to the scene, Kadayıfçıoğlu said, "My finger was not on the trigger during the incident, I did not point a gun at anyone."

Detained defendant Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu explained in her defense that she had a 1.5-year relationship with Canbay and started seeing Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu after their breakup. Kalaycıoğlu said that Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı called her and said, "Sister, I want to come to reconcile you," but she said she did not want him to come.

Kalaycıoğlu claimed that she saw Kadayıfçıoğlu carrying a gun for the first time at the moment of the incident. Stating that she could not understand what happened after the gun went off, Kalaycıoğlu explained that she saw the gun after getting into the vehicle and asked Kadayıfçıoğlu, "Alaattin, what did you do?"

Vahap Canbay, who was heard as a witness at the hearing, also described what happened in the vehicle on the day of the incident. Canbay said that a person came to the side of the vehicle, knocked on the window, opened the door, and the gun was pointed inside. Stating, "I had no contact with the gun," Canbay expressed that he did not realize Kubilay was shot at first, and later asked for help.

In the second hearing of the case, which has come to the agenda again with the family's statements, it is expected that the details of the incident will be addressed through defendant defenses and witness statements.
