Famous yogurt brand's product added to adulteration list, company files objection
The Arslan brand's semi-skimmed yogurt was added to the adulteration list published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; however, the manufacturer was found to be in the right in the lawsuit it filed against the analysis results and is waiting for the product to be removed from the list.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry added the Arslan-branded 500-gram semi-skimmed yogurt to the "Foods Subject to Imitation or Adulteration" list it announced on June 25, 2026. This yogurt, known to be produced in the Ergene district of Tekirdağ, was included in the list on the grounds that it did not comply with the fat content declared on the label during analyses conducted in ministry laboratories.
According to the details shared by the ministry, it was determined that the fat ratio in the yogurt's content was lower than what was stated on the label, as required by regulations. For this reason, it was stated that offering the product to consumers in its current state on the market was misleading.
Company officials, however, announced that they did not accept the results of the analysis and had resorted to legal channels. In a statement regarding the matter, it was said, "The fat analysis performed is a very sensitive process. Small deviations can occur during the analysis, and as a result, the fat ratio comes out lower than stated on the label due to a very small deviation. Our objection was recently found to be justified, and we are waiting for the court's written decision. As soon as it arrives, we will apply to the ministry and request that our brand be removed from the adulteration list."
The manufacturer of the yogurt, Tezcanlar Süt Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, also draws attention to its connection with the Arslan brand. As stated on the company's website, it includes the phrase, "It is seen that it holds the position of being the company with the largest yogurt and ayran production capacity in Thrace by merging with the Arslan Süt Mamulleri brand in 2020." Company officials also confirm that the product belonging to the Arslan Süt Ürünleri brand is produced by them.
It has been learned that after the reasoned decision is issued by the court, the company will apply to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to have the product officially removed from the adulteration list.
