The Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention warrants for 10 individuals as part of an extortion investigation into allegations that public officials abused their authority for personal gain. In this context, former Mayor Osman Türkyılmaz, along with M.Ç., C.A., İ.A., M.T., T.A., M.T., and A.D., were taken into custody.

According to a report in Sözcü, it was stated that Ü.T. and K.T., who are currently outside the province, will also be apprehended and brought to Kırıkkale. The suspects' processing at the police station is ongoing.

AKP's Ahmet Sungur, who was elected Mayor of Yahşihan in the local elections held last year, stated in an announcement in August 2024 that there was a debt of 1 billion 170 million liras remaining from the Osman Türkyılmaz era. Sungur claimed that all of the municipality's lands were under lien and that half of the debt was due to "fake invoices." Detailed investigations within the scope of the inquiry are continuing.
