Fraud operation in Sakarya and Istanbul: 150 million TL heist
A gendarmerie operation was carried out against a criminal organization targeting the automotive sector in Sakarya and Istanbul. As a result of the operation, 13 people were detained and a large amount of assets were seized.

An automotive company established in the Karasu district of Sakarya in 2021 was converting seized vehicles into VIP minibuses, caravans, or shuttle vehicles and selling them with proforma invoices without notary transfers. The suspects attempted to create the impression of a reliable company by posting advertisements online at prices below market value and displaying the vehicles at a plaza in Kocaali. However, many buyers either received old and worn-out vehicles or were never delivered any vehicles at all.
The Sakarya Provincial Gendarmerie Command, in coordination with the Kocaali Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted a simultaneous operation at 17 addresses in Sakarya and Istanbul on the morning of July 8, 2025. 150 gendarmerie personnel participated in the operation, and 13 suspects were detained. During the searches, 21 commercial vehicles, 13 travel trailers, 27 mobile phones, 18 computers, and numerous financial documents were seized. The plaza that served as the center of the criminal organization was sealed.
Examinations revealed that there was over 3 billion TL in unusual money movement in the suspects' bank accounts between 2021 and 2025. It was determined that the organization defrauded 115 people of approximately 150 million TL. Within the scope of the operation, assets worth approximately 1.2 billion TL, including 101 vehicles, 13 travel trailers, 2 plazas, and 31 real estate properties, were seized.
Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, company owner Murat Y. along with R.Y., Y.D., N.Y., M.K., and Ş.D. were arrested. The other suspects were released under judicial control conditions. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fugitive manager Y.T.
Sakarya Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Nejdet Karaca shared the footage of the operation on his social media account with the note "The end of the movie," announcing the successful operation of the gendarmerie teams to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
