Famous singer Gülben Ergen was summoned to the courthouse as part of an investigation launched following her social media post about Fatmanur Çelik (30) and her daughter Hifa İkra Şengüler (8), who lost their lives on the Kazlıçeşme Coast on March 2.

Following a criminal complaint by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into Ergen.

Gülben Ergen arrived at the Bakırköy Courthouse this morning for the proceedings and gave a statement for approximately one hour at the Press Crimes Investigation Bureau.

Speaking to the press after giving her statement, Gülben Ergen stated that she made the post upon the call of a mother.

"I made a post on social media upon the call of a mother. That mother said, 'This is my call to Ms. Gülben; let her come and see our situation and our child on the spot.' I visited the mother at her home during the month of Ramadan. Friends, the mother and her daughter are no longer alive. The mother and daughter who said, 'I fear for my life,' are no longer alive. I am giving a statement regarding this. I am very sad, I am hurt, but the prosecutor, as my lawyer also said, asked with extreme courtesy and understanding about my visit, when I went, what we talked about, and what I saw. I explained to the prosecutor carefully and diligently what I experienced and what I saw. I am hurt and sad. I am also waiting for justice for Rojin Kabaiş. My sensitivity regarding children, women, and girls will continue to increase. I am an artist of this country, I am a citizen of this country, and I am the founder and president of an association in this country. I am a woman who is sensitive about children. This sensitivity of mine will not end. But am I sad? I am sad. Am I hurt? I am hurt. I was not sad or hurt while giving my statement inside; yes, questions were asked to me with understanding. I answered with understanding and care, but let us not forget that a mother and daughter are not alive right now," she said.

After the statement procedures, Gülben Ergen left the courthouse.
