Nineteen days after businessman Halit Yukay (43) went missing while sailing from Yalova to Bozcaada, his body has been located. However, recovering the body from a depth of 68 meters is currently impossible due to strong winds and waves. Teams are waiting for weather conditions to improve.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE INCIDENT AND EXPERT EXAMINATION
The moments when Halit Yukay, who produced yachts in Yalova, set off for Bozcaada were captured on security cameras. The Marmara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an expert examination of the wreckage of the boat named 'Graywolf' to determine the cause of the accident.
ARREST OF THE CAPTAIN AND EVIDENCE
The captain of the dry cargo ship 'Arel 7', which allegedly collided with Yukay's boat, identified as C.T., has been arrested on charges of 'causing death by negligence'. The ship's radar movements were examined, and friction marks were detected on its bow. These marks matched the traces found on Yukay's boat.
TESTIMONY OF KIVANÇ TATLITUĞ
Actor Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ provided testimony as a witness within the scope of the investigation. Tatlıtuğ stated that he had spoken with Yukay on the phone before the accident and that the line was suddenly cut off. The investigation file has been transferred to the Marmara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
WAITING TO RECOVER THE BODY
A coordinated operation with the Naval Forces Command is being planned to recover the body. However, operations have not yet been able to commence due to weather conditions. Once the wind subsides, the goal is to recover the body using an ROV device.
