According to allegations, the argument between the couple, who had been experiencing problems for some time, escalated quickly, and Ö.Y. fled the scene after stabbing his wife multiple times.
Eylem Yeşilkaya, who was severely injured, was taken to Malatya Training and Research Hospital by medical teams arriving at the scene upon notification, but she could not be saved despite all interventions.
