IBAN warning from Minister Yılmaz Tunç
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç has called on the public, especially young people, to be cautious against rising internet fraud cases and not to share their bank account information with others.

In a statement to the public, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç pointed out that digital crimes are diversifying rapidly and emphasized that young people opening their bank accounts for others to use, with the promise of easy money, could lead to serious legal consequences.
Pointing out that fraud methods have changed alongside technological developments, Tunç stated, "You cannot give your account number to someone else in exchange for money," and highlighted the importance of questioning the source of money transfers arriving at banks. Minister Tunç warned that otherwise, individuals could unintentionally become part of a criminal chain.
Tunç also touched upon the importance of law and justice education at the high school and middle school levels, underlining the necessity for young people to grow up learning their social responsibilities alongside their personal rights.
The Minister reiterated that while sharing IBAN information might seem like a simple act, it carries very heavy legal consequences, and therefore account holders must act with great caution.
Emphasizing that young people, in particular, can be easily targeted by malicious individuals, Yılmaz Tunç warned families and students not to believe every promise they encounter in the internet environment.
