The Cyber Crimes Investigation units of the Afyonkarahisar Police Department tracked down S.Ç., who had made a post containing insults directed at Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı on social media.
It was determined that S.Ç., who made the insulting remarks by quoting a news story titled 'Controversial decision from the Governor's Office. Feeding stray animals has been banned,' resided in Pendik, Istanbul, and was staying at a hotel in Antalya for a vacation.
Detained by police teams in Antalya, S.Ç. was brought to Afyonkarahisar after the completion of the procedures. S.Ç., who was referred to the courthouse there, was arrested by the duty magistrate and sent to prison.
